Do What You Love, Love What You Do

Have you ever had to describe a process that is difficult for you to do because it comes so naturally to you? This is the case for me with jewelry design. Let me explain, but to do that I have to go back some.
My background is in nursing. I had to study hard and just passed my state boards. My whole career was filled with anxiety and fear. Always double, and triple checking that I did everything right and made no mistake. After many years I just couldn’t do it anymore and picked up jewelry design for stress relief.
I noticed how easily it came to me. How I could look at a new style or technique and have no problem doing it. I also noticed that it had a positive effect on my well-being. I could start a project; the next thing I knew, a few hours passed.
Another plus was that I loved working with stones, crystals, and metals. The colors, textures, and energies from them were so inspiring to work with. In contrast to nursing, any new procedure was associated with stress and anxiety. So many things could go wrong.

But back to my dilemma. In jewelry design, I have many ideas and have explored many styles. Some I really connected with, others not so much. Just being able to play with the ideas and styles is very satisfying.
I love making necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. I enjoy playing with colors and textures. The process is intuitive, and second nature to me. Unlike nursing, I just proceed and let my senses guide me. Some days the designs are very simple and other days more complicated, but always beautiful. I always come up with new collections to add to my shop.
If the process speaks to you drop me a note and share your experience, and if you have loose stones and crystals; I love to design a piece of jewelry for you.
